Watering Tips:

Many people ask me that,

.

Q: Can I use spray bottle for watering bulbs/cactuses/lithops? 💧🚿

.

A: No...the first thing to understand is all plants mentioned above have only underground roots, no aerial roots.

.

If you do not plant it yet, yes...you can use spray bottle spray water over the roots to get more moisture at roots. But that just temporary for them cause all of those generally growing well in the soil.

.

If already planted in the soil, they need water/moisture from underground. The best way to make moisture in the soil is water directly at soil and should watering until you see the water dropping from drainage hole at bottom of the pot.

What I use is plastic squeeze bottle. (500ml. Cause it fit to my hand) When you squeeze it the pressured water come out and go deep through the pebbles into the soil without any split of soil. It is very cheap and can use for many plants; bulbs, cactuses, lithops, succulents.

.

Another popular question is,

.

Q: Can we water on the bulb/cactuses/lithops/succulents?

.

A: you can if all plants are placed at the very well ventilation area, great temperature that water will be evaporated in half day. But each plants are different, bulbs depends on which kind of it. .

For Erecta craib and Venosa , my opinion, will not do that coz their shell is very thin like a potato so if it get too much moisture, it can be pealed off and get rot if gain too much moisturize.

.

For Suberosa, phyllanthus mirabilis and Nova; my opinion, yes you can watering over it but still need to place in very well ventilation but if you can avoid it, that would be great. These plants have more thicker shell.

.

For cactuses, I will do, if I want to clean them if not I will avoid to watering over them. Some cactus as Mammillaria has much furry thrones and can get rot coz of some water stuck inside their fluffy thorns or hairy.
